The UN Sustainable Development Goals

At Renas, we use the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a practical management tool in both daily operations and strategic development.
The goals are closely linked to our core values and ambition to contribute positively to society.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals

The framework for responsible business

We integrate considerations for the environment, health, people and future society into our products, work culture and collaborations.

Our efforts range from local initiatives such as energy renovations and social inclusion to solutions that create value for our customers.

In the past, we have supported a village in The Gambia (Goal 1) and focused on gender equality and diversity (Goal 10). These experiences are part of our core values and support our broad understanding of responsibility.

The 4 global goals

Renas focuses on

People in balance
- Health and well-being in everyday life

A healthy life for all and well-being for all ages
At Renas, we see health and well-being as the foundation for a good working life and thus also for high quality in our services. We work hard to create a safe, spacious and good environment for both employees and customers.

Our focus on SDG 3 reflects our ambition to run a company where physical and mental health is prioritized - and where everyone has the opportunity to thrive in their work.

A healthy work environment
All new hires go through thorough training, including
safety, ergonomics and correct use of chemicals. There is regular peer-to-peer training and ongoing quality reviews, so that each employee feels equipped for the task and experiences professional pride in their work.

We have an active health and safety committee (AMO) that meets quarterly and works systematically with APV follow-up, ergonomics and well-being.

Prevention and support
We offer health insurance to our employees and support well-being through 1:1 conversations, social events and visible leadership with a short path from employee to decision.

Individual needs are taken into account and we offer flexibility in tasks, working hours and training so that as many people as possible can succeed - including those with special needs, integration backgrounds or special life circumstances.

Chemical-free and hypoallergenic solutions
Renas uses Cradle to Cradle certified cleaning products that are 100 % biodegradable, free of endocrine disruptors and proven hypoallergenic. This means fewer health problems and a safer working day for employees - and a healthier indoor climate for customers. In addition, we reduce the need for chemicals in general through microfiber technology, intelligent dosing and machines that save both water and load.

We create decent jobs with meaning and opportunity

We invest in people and a decent environment
At Renas, people are the most important resource. We believe that stable, decent jobs create both high quality for the customer and great value for the employee.
Our focus on SDG 8 is a natural fit with the way we do business: with a focus on long-term relationships, upskilling and flexible solutions that allow for diversity and development.

Permanent work and decent conditions Renas employs 131 employees, the majority of whom are in permanent positions with collectively agreed pay and working conditions.
We offer health insurance, pension and flexible working hours to suit the individual's life situation.

Room for everyone - regardless of background
Renas has extensive experience in including employees in integration programs, flex jobs and senior schemes. We regularly hire employees with a non-Danish ethnic background and offer language support, thorough training and close follow-up. Our ethnic guidelines and Code of Conduct ensure a consistent and inclusive approach, where respect, openness and equal opportunities are key principles.

Training, responsibility and development
New employees undergo structured peer-to-peer training and introduction to company values, safety procedures and quality standards. Several of our current leaders are recruited internally - and we encourage everyone to take responsibility, develop and become part of the long-term journey at Renas.

Stable growth and social responsibility
Renas has grown steadily since its establishment in 2007, expanding its geographical presence, customer portfolio and workforce without compromising on decency and social responsibility.
We believe that healthy growth is built on a strong foundation - and that decent jobs benefit both the individual and society.

Less chemistry, less waste
- with the same quality

We reduce waste and choose proven
Solutions
Renas is committed to reducing resource consumption and environmental impact in both our operations and customer solutions. SDG 12 is part of our responsibility as a service provider: Thinking in products
and processes that make it easier to act responsibly
without compromising on quality or efficiency.

Cleaning with a proven environmental profile
We use Cradle to Cradle certified products
from the Tana Green Care range. They are proven biodegradable, free of unwanted chemicals and selected for their low environmental impact in use. At the same time, we work with dosing technology and microfibers that reduce the amount of chemicals and water used on a daily basis.

Resource savings at your own locations
At our locations in Odense, Vejle and Helsingør, we have carried out energy renovations, waste sorting and introduced LED lighting. We use electric cars, solar panels and continuously monitor our consumption.

Customer solutions with measurable impact
We offer customers the opportunity to get documentation for the reduction of CO2, plastic and crude oil when choosing solutions from Renas. This provides a clear overview of the effect and enables the customer to include the results in their own reports and specifications.

Climate responsibility in operations

Climate action with a focus on proven progress
At Renas, we continuously work to reduce our direct and indirect CO2e emissions and strengthen our contribution to climate action. We focus both on replacing harmful solutions with better alternatives and on creating transparency in our environmental impact through reliable data and internal follow-up. SDG 13 is therefore a key guiding principle in
Our operations.

Climate impact from energy consumption
Our total CO2e emissions for Scope 1 and 2 are reduced by almost 9 % from 2023 to 2024.

The development in emissions looks like this:
2022: 299 tons CO2e
2023: 299 tons CO2e
2024: 273 tons CO2e
The positive development in 2024 is partly due to changing driving patterns and investments in electric transportation solutions.

Climate-friendly operations and infrastructure
We have implemented several initiatives that reduce our environmental impact, including:

  • Investing in electric cars for customer driving and operations
  • Installation of solar cells
  • Energy renovation of own locations in Odense,
    Vejle and Elsinore

These measures contribute to both lower energy consumption and a reduction in CO2e emissions.

Systematic follow-up
We use the North ESG platform to collect and analyze data about our environmental footprint. This gives us a stronger foundation for both documentation and improvements. We have also set a target to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 4 % in the coming year.
